The Story of Bagood & Eviangle

We all have that evil or bad person in our lives. The one we hate to the core for the evilness we have seen in him/her. They would almost never do the right thing! It’s just surprising to see how people can even talk to a person so mean! Well, here is a story that may explain it…

Long long ago, God declared that survival of the fittest will be the law of nature. It was the word that the newly created beings, called humans will decide the fate of all the worlds now. Just like all species, a Demi God was to be appointed to guide humans. The Supreme God called two of the best Demi Gods, Bagood & Eviangle, and asked them how they would guide humans to eternal happiness. Both the Demi Gods presented their ideas before the Supreme God. Here is a shortened translation of their arguments:

Bagood’s Argument

Oh, Supreme God, the knower of all, humans are the finest species created by You since the Demi Gods. They deserve nothing but the best. I can provide unlimited offensive power to humans. I will make them the master of cognitive powers of mind. They, with their supreme knowledge will win over all odds and create a better world for all.

I will teach them to learn from each other in all scenarios. They will be able to fend off any potential danger to them & their loved ones even before it happens! I will teach them the value of a small sacrifice to gain something so much better! Not only will they keep the world safe, but will make life more comfortable for all!

Eviangle’s Argument

Oh Supreme God, the most loved by all, humans are the most creative & artistic beings ever created by You. I can provide them strength of unity to defend themselves from anything. I will make them the master of emotional powers of mind. They with their artistic abilities will make the world more beautiful than ever!

I will teach them to see the beauty in all things that happen. They will turn all that happens to them into something better for the whole world. I will teach them not to give up on something that they love for the greed of something better! They will bring about peace, harmony & love not just among themselves, but to all in the world!

There was a long discussion that followed among the advisers of the Supreme God. There was no consistent view as to who should be given the authority to guide humans. Finally, the Creator of all gave a decision.

Supreme God’s Decision

Bagood, the God of cognitive powers & Eviangle, the God of emotional powers, you both have contributed so much in the creation of humans. It gives me immense pleasure to see how much my children can prosper under your philosophies. On the other hand, it hurts me to see them leave any of you. None of you is unfit for any situation. It’s not possible for Me to decide who is better. Hence, my children, until I am able to decide, humans, shall prosper under both of you!

I hereby declare that from this moment onward, both of you will guide humans in their quest. Bagood, you will have the left part of the mind while Eviangle, you will reside in the right part. I leave it up to humans to choose who to listen to. Also, I shall reside in all humans helping them decide who to listen whenever they need Me.

Since then, the argument has shifted from the court of Supreme God to all the human minds. We all are so many times in a fix whether to listen to our emotional mind (which we sometimes call heart) or to listen to our cognitive mind (which we sometimes call brain). Well actually it really doesn't matter what we listen to. We always lose something and retain something. And since the God in us helps us choose, we can't go wrong.

However, what does matter is that we understand others. No one is actually evil or bad. Sometimes on a decision, we want to follow Bagood. If the other person follows Eviangle, we consider him/her Evil, but if he follows Bagood, we consider him/her Good. Similarly, sometimes we may want to follow Eviangle. If the other person follows Bagood, we consider him/her Bad, but if he follows Eviangle, we consider him/her to be an angle!

We need to understand nobody is same. We have often heard Good & Bad or Evil & Angel are two sides of the same coin. Just because somebody follows the other school of thought, doesn't mean he/she is Bad or Evil. How can we decide who is right if even the Supreme God couldn't ?! Yes, we must always fight for what we feel is right, for it is the God in us who told us so, but we should also keep in mind that the other person also has a God in him/her who may be telling otherwise!

Next time you find yourself arguing with someone, try to see the two Demi Gods along with the Supreme God in you and the other person. It may not solve the problem, but would sure lighten up the scene! :)
